Power Energy & Solar Uganda Expo 2026 Set to Drive Clean Energy Growth in East Africa from May 21, 2026 at Kampala, Uganda

The Power Energy & Solar Uganda Expo 2026, an international exhibition focused on power, electricity, solar energy, and the electric vehicle (EV) sector, will take place from May 21–23, 2026, at the UMA Show Grounds in Kampala, Uganda.
Organized by Astrovision Global FZCO in collaboration with key industry associations, the inaugural edition is expected to host around 100 exhibitors from across the globe. Participating countries include India, Uganda, China, the Philippines, Malaysia, Tanzania, South Africa, and Kenya, highlighting the event’s strong international presence.
Recognizing the growing role of Southeast Asia in the global energy landscape, Power, Energy & Solar Expo 2026 warmly invites companies from ASEAN countries—including Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam—to participate as exhibitors. With Uganda’s energy sector undergoing rapid expansion and rising demand for reliable power solutions, renewable energy technologies, and solar innovations, the expo presents a strategic entry point for ASEAN businesses seeking to explore opportunities in East Africa. Participating companies will have the opportunity to showcase their solutions, engage with key stakeholders, and build long-term partnerships in one of Africa’s emerging energy markets.
The expo aims to serve as a strategic platform for fostering business opportunities, strengthening trade relations, and encouraging collaboration within the energy sector—particularly between Uganda and participating nations.
Uganda’s Growing Solar Energy Potential
Uganda’s solar energy sector is rapidly emerging as a vital solution to meet rising electricity demand, especially in rural regions with limited grid access. While the country’s total installed capacity exceeds 1,400 MW—primarily driven by hydropower—annual demand growth of over 7% continues to create supply gaps.
Solar energy, currently contributing approximately 100–150 MW of grid-connected capacity along with expanding off-grid systems, is gaining momentum through private investments and government-led initiatives aimed at achieving universal electricity access by 2030. With abundant solar resources averaging 5–6 kWh/m²/day, Uganda presents strong potential for renewable energy expansion, reduced dependence on hydropower, and sustainable economic growth.
Diverse Industry Showcase
The three-day exhibition will feature a comprehensive range of sectors, including:
• Electric vehicles (EVs) and charging infrastructure
• Battery technologies and energy storage solutions
• Solar and thermal energy systems
• Wind and hydropower technologies
• Lighting and electrical fittings
• HVAC systems and automation technologies
• Power transmission and distribution equipment
• Generators, transformers, and UPS systems
• Safety, security, and energy-efficient solutions
In addition, companies specializing in turnkey projects, electrical engineering, insulation systems, switchgear, and energy conservation technologies will also be represented.
Broad Visitor Profile
The event is expected to attract a diverse audience of industry professionals, including government officials, energy department representatives, project managers, independent power producers, architects, engineers, consultants, and procurement specialists. It will also welcome distributors, traders, developers, and decision-makers from both public and private sectors, making it a comprehensive networking and sourcing hub.
Global Market Insights
The expo will also spotlight global renewable energy trends, including developments in markets such as the Philippines, which is rapidly expanding its solar capacity through strong government support and increasing demand across commercial, industrial, and remote sectors.
A Gateway to East Africa
Power Energy & Solar Uganda Expo 2026 offers a significant opportunity for global companies to establish and expand their presence in East Africa. By positioning Uganda as a strategic entry point, the event is expected to play a key role in accelerating clean energy adoption, promoting innovation, and building long-term international partnerships.
More than just an exhibition, the event aims to be a dynamic hub for knowledge exchange, networking, and business development—bringing together manufacturers, technology providers, distributors, and industry leaders under one roof.
