Addressing the Housing Backlog

The challenge before us in the Philippine housing
sector is significant. The Department of Human Settlements and Urban
Development (DHSUD) reports a nationwide backlog of approximately 6.5 million housing units as of 2022 (Manila Bulletin 2025). Left unaddressed, this figure could escalate to 10 million units by 2028 (Politko 2022). This is a gap that demands
concerted effort from all stakeholders—including private-sector developers like
us.
