Leadership
\nBehind the Initiative<\/b><\/p>\n
The awards are the vision of
\nGuam-based Filipino nurse leader Job Marconi Mascardo<\/b>, MBA, MAN, RN,
\nNE-BC, CPHQ, CMGT-BC.<\/p>\n
Mascardo began his professional
\njourney as a volunteer nurse with the Red Cross Cebu Chapter before gaining
\nfrontline clinical experience in the United States, including service in
\nlong-term care settings in Montana. These early roles exposed him to the physical
\ndemands, emotional challenges, and ethical responsibilities of bedside nursing
\n\u2014 experiences that continue to shape his leadership philosophy.<\/p>\n
He later advanced into roles in case
\nmanagement and healthcare quality focusing on process and system improvement. He
\nearned his nursing degree from Silliman University and later completed graduate
\nstudies in Business Administration (MBA) and Nursing (MAN) at other
\ninstitutions. He also holds multiple U.S. board certifications in nurse
\nexecutive leadership (NE-BC), healthcare quality (CPHQ), and case management
\n(CMGT-BC).<\/p>\n
Mascardo has received community
\nrecognitions for his leadership, including Distinct and Empowered Filipino in
\nNursing Leadership by the Philippines Distinct Men and Women of Excellence in
\nMetro Manila, as well as a scholarship award from the Philippine Nurses
\nAssociation of America (PNAA) in New York. He was also nominated as an
\nEmerging Global Filipino Icon by The Global Filipino Magazine and
\nfeatured in The Summit Express news.<\/p>\n
Through his clinical and leadership
\nexperiences \u2014 including service during the COVID-19 pandemic \u2014 Mascardo
\nobserved that many of the most impactful nurses work quietly, without meaningful
\nrecognition.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve seen nurses carry patient
\nloads through difficult seasons,\u201d Mascardo said. \u201cRecognition strengthens
\nmorale. It reinforces integrity. And it reminds nurses that their service truly
\nmatters.\u201d<\/p>\n
As an Overseas Filipino
\nprofessional, he describes the initiative as a way of giving back to the
\nnursing community in the Philippines \u2014 honoring those whose excellence and
\ntrustworthiness form the backbone of healthcare.<\/p>\n
