It was<br \/>\nstill used as a royal garden until the reign of Sultan Hamengku Buwono V. In<br \/>\nhis era, \u201cJenu\u201d was changed to \u201cPesanggrahan Harja Purna\u201d which was once used<br \/>\nas a place to welcome special guests outside the palace. In 1898, the era of<br \/>\nSultan Hamengku Buwono VII, \u201cPesanggrahan Harja Purna\u201d was- transformed into<br \/>\n\u201cKedhaton Ambarrukmo.\u201d His Majesty furnished the place with additional buildings<br \/>\nsimilar to Kraton Yogyakarta. It was used as His Majesty&#8217;s home after he<br \/>\nabdicated the throne. Sultan Hamengku Buwono VII spend most of his time here<br \/>\nuntil his death.<\/p>\n<p>During the reign of Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX, \u201cKedhaton Ambarrukmo\u201d was<br \/>\noften used for public interest. For instance, in 1947 this beautiful place was<br \/>\nused as the administration o\ufb03ce of the Sleman government. <\/p>\n<p>Long journey short, in around 1960, by the suggestion of Ir. Soekarno who<br \/>\nwas the \ufb01rst president of the Republic of Indonesia, both Ir. Soekarno and Sri<br \/>\nSultan Hamengku Buwono IX decided to build a \ufb01ve-star hotel with a signature<br \/>\ntouch of architecture from Ir. Soekarno. They used the <i>pampasan<\/i> fund<br \/>\nfrom the Japanese to build one of the \ufb01rst \ufb01ve-star hotels in Indonesia. The<br \/>\nhotel was named Ambarrukmo Palace Hotel. Onwards, in 2011, this magni\ufb01cent<br \/>\nhotel got a big renovation and transformed into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.royalambarrukmo.com\/\">Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta<\/a>, a<br \/>\n\ufb01ve-star hotel that is famous for its Javanese culture and tradition.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%\" src=\"https:\/\/vritimes-public.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com\/production\/aa7d00121fdfdd3b79a972cd8448fa76fea82ad14db0b0a5139855df6fcf01e0\/Royal%20Ambarrukmo%20Yogyakarta%20-%20Swimming%20Pool%20%26%20Facade.jpg\" alt=\"Royal Ambarrukmo hotel and swimming pool area.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cKedhaton Ambarrukmo\u201d heritage complex consists of Pendopo Agung Kedhaton<br \/>\nAmbarrukmo, Ndalem Ageng, and Bale Kambang. The Pendopo is usually used for<br \/>\ntraditional Javanese activities such as Javanese dance activities, Javanese<br \/>\ncreation dances, Siteran, Suling Bambu, as well as Jemparingan or traditional<br \/>\narchery combined with Royal High Tea Patehan.<\/p>\n<p>Ndalem Ageng nowadays is used as a private museum, which before was used as<br \/>\nthe place of Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono VII and his family rooms. Today, it has<br \/>\na wondrous Gamelan named Kiai Yasa Arum and a set of wayang kulit. The museum<br \/>\nalso has many batik clothing, various kinds of Batik, and also pictures and<br \/>\npaintings of the Kasultanan family. Meanwhile, Bale Kambang is a stunning water<br \/>\ncastle located behind Ndalem Ageng, which used to be a place for Sultan to<br \/>\npray. <\/p>\n<p>Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta is famous for its signature Royal Moments,<br \/>\nPatehan and Ladosan Dhahar. Patehan is originally a traditional tea ceremony at<br \/>\nthe Sultan Palace, served with a special procession of Abdi Dalem dressed in<br \/>\ntraditional Javanese clothes. The dish will be carried in a parade of Abdi<br \/>\nDalem and the tea will be poured with appreciation towards participants and a<br \/>\nprayer for the earth&#8217;s harmony.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Ladosan Dhahar is a luncheon or dinner ceremony which begins with<br \/>\nJodhang (wooden box to carry the meals &amp; o\ufb00erings) ceremony, the<br \/>\nJodhang will be carried by Abdi Dalem. The dish for Ladosan Dhahar are Sultan\u2019s<br \/>\nfavorite dish, known for its delicacy and rich \ufb02avor.<\/p>\n<p>The upcoming Royal Moment that will be launch is Pradangga.
